Before You Meet Anyone Online
Getting to know someone through our platform before meeting in person is always the safest approach. We recommend:
- Video chatting before meeting in person to confirm someone is who they say they are;
- Running a quick reverse image search on profile photos if anything seems off;
- Never sending money to anyone you have not met in person, regardless of their story;
- Being cautious of members who rush you to move communication off-platform.
Your First Meeting
- Always meet for the first time in a busy, public location;
- Tell a trusted friend or family member where you are going, who you're meeting, and when to expect you back;
- Arrange your own transport — do not rely on your date for travel;
- Keep your phone fully charged and accessible throughout;
- Trust your instincts — if something feels wrong, leave immediately.
Protecting Your Personal Information
- Don't share your full name, home address, workplace, or financial information in early conversations;
- Use a unique, strong password for your sugardaddies.au account;
- Enable two-factor authentication in Account Settings;
- Be wary of members who ask for detailed personal information very quickly.
Reporting Suspicious or Harmful Behaviour
Use the Report button on any profile or message to flag suspicious behaviour. Reports are reviewed by our Trust & Safety team within 24 hours. Reportable behaviour includes:
- Requesting money or financial assistance;
- Threatening, harassing, or intimidating language;
- Sharing unsolicited explicit content;
- Suspected fake or impersonating profiles;
- Any behaviour that makes you feel unsafe.
For immediate safety concerns, please contact Australian emergency services on 000. For non-emergency situations, you can contact the police assistance line on 131 444.
Online Scam Awareness
Romance scams are an unfortunate reality of online dating. Warning signs include: declarations of love very quickly, requests for money or gift cards, elaborate stories about emergencies, and reluctance to video call. If you suspect a scam, report it to the Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) Scamwatch.
